MEDICAL LIBRARY

AHEC Southwest was established in 1976 by UAMS as one of six outreach programs located throughout the state of Arkansas. The Medical Library was the first part of AHEC-SW to be established. Since then, the Medical Library has grown to provide services to thirteen counties in Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas, and assists with interlibrary loans nationwide. The library is located on the first floor of the AHEC building in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas.

The library houses approximately 2,000 medical, nursing, and allied health books and subscribes to 275 journals. The library also maintains an audio/visual collection of approximately 700 titles. Please contact the library for a current holdings list.
