AHEC-SW BREAST CARE (ABC) EDUCATION PROGRAM

The
ABC
Education Program
educates men and women on the importance of early
detection of breast cancer through monthly self-exams
and mammograms. Funding is provided by the Texarkana
Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For more

DEQUEEN MINORITY CARE
CLINIC

The DeQueen Minority
Care Clinic helps meet the needs of underserved &
uninsured residents of DeQueen, AR. Two Nurse
Practitioners, a RN and a Community Health Worker see
patients two Saturdays a month. The clinic provides
primary basic care, helping to ease the burden of
individuals going to the Emergency Room needing only

DIABETIC EDUCATION & SUPPORT

Diabetes
is an all-too common chronic disease in today’s society.
Through the use of a certified diabetic educator, UAMS
AHEC-SW provides one-on-one and group diabetic
education. Diabetic education support groups are held on
a weekly basis at UAMS AHEC-SW. In addition, our
diabetic educator and health educator provides community
presentations to provide up-to-date information on
diabetes care and management. For more information about
