"BEYOND COMMUNICATION LIMITS"

MEDICAL INTERPRETING TRAINING PROGRAM

UAMS AHEC-SW employs two certified medical interpreters trained through the UAMS Regional Programs Medical Interpreting Training Program. Medical Interpreters provide Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals an avenue to communication with their health care provider in order to receive quality care.

UAMS AHEC-SW is working to train bilingual individuals in southwest Arkansas to help reduce the current language barriers in the health care setting for LEP patients. Information is listed below for local training opportunities.

Please visit http://rpweb.uams.edu/MedicalInterpreter for more information about the UAMS Regional Programs program and for additional training dates and sites.
