KILPATRICK ADOPT-A-SCHOOL

In January 2006, UAMS AHEC-SW adopted Kilpatrick Elementary Math/Science/Wellness Magnet School in Texarkana Arkansas School District. The concept of Kilpatrick is to integrate math, science, and wellness into all of its core subjects. UAMS AHEC-SW staff present each month to a different grade on a different health topic. During each presentation, a health care professional talks about his/her role in the health care setting. This allows students to learn about the multiple jobs available in health care.
